Who We are...

LoveyLoaves is a small-breed special needs dog rescue dedicated to giving extraordinary dogs a second chance at life. From amputees and blind or deaf pups to medically complex and carted dogs, we welcome those who’ve faced tough circumstances with open arms and big hearts. Our dream is the LoveyLoaves Sanctuary—a joyful, safe haven where “specially-abled” dogs can heal, thrive, and feel loved, whether they’re headed to forever homes or simply enjoying their golden years. Until then, we care for our pups through foster homes and adoption, proving every dog deserves a beautiful life.

Cheri Wells - Executive Chairman

Cheri founded LoveyLoaves from a heart that couldn’t turn away from dogs who needed more than sympathy—they needed someone to care. Her soul belongs to the lil’ Loveys, and her life’s work is giving “specially-abled” dogs safety, healing, and a place to belong.

With gentle hands and unwavering devotion, Cheri cares for dogs with complex needs while guiding every part of the rescue—from daily care and transport to education and advocacy for compassionate, responsible pet guardianship. She holds a BA in Organizational Communication, has studied Humane Leadership, and is certified in Canine Aquatic Therapy through the Canine Fitness Institute.

Through her leadership, LoveyLoaves is more than a rescue—it is a refuge where broken beginnings become beautiful stories of love.
