Who We are...

LoveyLoaves is a 501(c)3 small breed special needs dog rescue devoted to saving and rehabilitating dogs that have been dealt different circumstances in life. Amputees, blind/deaf, medically complex, carted dogs, those suffering from disease, illness, injury, or disorder…all find solace and safety within the rescue. We strive to open the doors of LoveyLoaves Sanctuary, a safe haven for “specially-abled” dogs. This will be a place where dogs with special circumstances can receive rehabilitation, physical therapy, love, and possibly be re-homed, fostered, or peacefully live out the rest of their days. Until the Sanctuary project reaches completion, we place dogs with special needs in loving homes through our foster and adoption program.

Cheri Wells - Executive Chairman

As founder of LoveyLoaves, Cheri has given her heart to the lil' Loveys. She has extensive experience with specially-abled pets and has done numerous hours of volunteer service within the community. In addition to taking care of the day-to-day tasks of rescue, Cheri helps with transport, educates about special needs dogs, and advocates for responsible pet guardianship. She has studied Humane Leadership, she holds a BA in Organizational Communication, and is certified in Canautics Canine Aqua Therapy through the Canine Fitness Institute. Cheri and her husband Ward share their lives with Ollie, Winslow, Smudge, Mary, Colby, and Sassy.
